CARNA LAPPING - OWNER/EVENT PLANNER

I began on this incredible journey of party planning around six years ago after I kept being asked to run different projects and events. I had not even considered the idea of being able to plan parties as a career and therefore went through a period where I wanted to be a Marine Biologist (solely because I loved scuba diving!) then an English teacher (I enjoy reading!) and then I went into the Health field (running is cool!). Though these different fields are great – I always felt like something was missing. After college, I worked for a few years managing special event sales for a venue. It was then that it finally clicked. I loved the idea of being able to work with people to create events that were important to them. I was so excited at the idea of being able to pursue this passion as a full time career. In late 2007, I started my own company, Very Important Events. These last few years as things have come together and I’ve gotten to work with so many great clients and vendors it really feels like a dream come true. I’m a firm believer that if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life. So, here I am, doing what I love to do and I hope you’ll join me in this adventure. ADDIE KELLER - EVENT PLANNER

Everyone has dreams and goals for life; mine began as a thirdgrader telling her mother she wanted to be an actress because she loved to make people happy and laugh. I followed that dream through high school theatre and into college. However, once in college, my world expanded immensely and I fell in love with design-specifically costume design. I found I could create whole worlds and emotions through color and texture. From there I branched out and found event planning, where I am able to harness my artistic abilities in a different form. My goals are still to make people happy and laugh. With all my skills combined, I now create through special events that are unique for each individual client.
